The problem may not be the task alone. It may be carrying the noticing, planning, remembering, and follow-up while the work remains invisible to everyone else. A private coping strategy cannot fully solve a public imbalance.

The original standard may have been inherited, imaginary, or designed for a different season of life. A deliberately adequate result can be more honest than an ideal that repeatedly extracts too much.
